Why are 77% of companies now monitoring their employees’ computer usage?
November 21st, 2011 Caitlin RobirdsBecause they know that one of the most critical components to running a successful business is managing their workforce. Regardless of the number of employees you have, knowing that they are available and productive will determine your business success or failure. working hours - 90% of employees feel the Internet can be addictive, and 41% admit to personal surfing at work for more than three hours per week.
- 60% of all online purchases are made during working hours.
Netective will:
- Record Login, Logout and Locked times so doing payroll is fast and accurate
- Monitor Web Site Activity

Testimonials:
“After installing Netective I observed my staff. Everyone logged on about 15 min late and logged off about 15 min early. Most staff did quite a bit of online banking, shopping and bill paying. After I showed results at office meeting, behavior changed immediately, everyone is logged on for full shift and I have gained at least 30 min of productivity per staff per day. Having had the system running for several months, I have continuous data (that staff know I have) regarding web usage and total hours worked during any given period. Should any dispute arise regarding hours or overtime, I have everything I need at my fingertips.”

“Netective is a great tool that helps me improve productivity by allowing me to easily see when my staff is logging in and out of their computers. Netective also shows me what websites my staff members are visiting and how much time they are spending on those sites. I get a daily email that summarizes my employee’s internet activity so I know exactly what is going on in my office even when I’m not there.”

And We’re Off…
June 28th, 2011 Rick GeretyIt’s been two weeks since the release of Netective 2.5 and the response we are hearing from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive. We do not however rest on our laurels and are constantly looking to improve Netective. We are currently working on making new reports available that will give the business owner a detailed report of log in and log out times as well as a summary of each person’s daily workstation active time, locked time and screensaver time. This improved report will allow you to see exactly how each employee is spending their day. You will now have all of this data available to view and print at the click of a button.
As I mentioned before we are in a constant state of improvement with Netective and always take into consideration any ideas that could help make it better, easier and more efficient to use. Please feel free to contact us with any ideas or questions you may have.
New Version of Netective Scheduled to Launch
June 1st, 2011 Rick GeretyAt last the much anticipated new version of Netective has a release date. On Monday June 13th, we will launch the newest version of Netective. While maintaining all current functionality, we have added many features that our customers have requested since our last update.
Included in this release will be two key features that allow you to monitor the productivity efforts in your office with much more detail. The first is the revised Workstation Time Analysis report. We have updated this report to give you a more accurate detail of each staff member’s daily computer activity. As in the current version it will show when each user logged in and out as well as when they lock/unlock their computers and screensaver time. The difference is that now the report will be viewed in a time clock format giving you a more representative look at each person’s day and how it was spent. The other major new difference is the ability to print your reports. This feature will allow you to store the information in a personal file or provide documents should any legal situations arise.
These new features combined with a new look and easier to use interface will help you on top of your office staff and what is actually happening when you are not there. Netective will help you manage and maintain the productivity levels in your office so you can maximize your profits.
Some Interesting Facts…
April 26th, 2011 Rick GeretyCATS VS. MICE
Are workers really expected to work 8 hours per day, non-stop? According to a Salary.com follow-up survey of Human Resource managers, companies assume that employees will waste 0.94 hours per day. They take this into account when they do their compensation planning. However, those managers privately suspect that employees waste 1.6 hours per day. In fact, employees admit to wasting 2.09 hours per day.
“To some bosses, that’s a startling figure,” says Salary.com’s Senior Vice President Bill Coleman. “Others, though, will view this extra wasted time as so-called ‘creative waste’ – wasted time that may well have a positive impact on the company’s culture, work environment, and even business results.”
Time Wasted During an 8-Hour Workday Number of Hours/Day
Assumed by HR 0.94 hrs.
Suspected by HR 1.60 hrs.
Admitted by Employees 2.09 hrs.
WHO WASTES THE MOST TIME?
Who tends to waste the most time at work?
* Men vs. Women: Men and women waste about the same amount of time per day. This, despite the fact that most HR managers surveyed suspected that women wasted more time at work than men.
* Youngsters vs. Seniors: As the following statistics show, the older people are, the less time they waste at work:
Year of Birth Time Wasted Per Day
1930-1949 0.50 hrs.
1950-1959 0.68 hrs.
1960-1969 1.19 hrs.
1970-1979 1.61 hrs.
1980-1985 1.95 hrs.
It looks like there is a trend in these statistics and they aren’t making any more workers born in the 1930’s and 40’s.
Top 5 Industries for Employee Time Wasting
April 12th, 2011 Rick GeretyWhich industries account for the most wasted time? Are you number 6?
Job Category Time Wasted Per Day: provided by AOL/Salary.com
- Insurance 2.5 hrs.
- Public Sector (Non-Education) 2.4 hrs.
- Research & Development 2.3 hrs.
- Education 2.2 hrs.
- Software & Internet 2.2 hrs.
Whether it is time spent talking with colleagues, March Madness or calls from home, I think most of us can agree that we are guilty of wasting time. Most of those time wasting activities are easily recognized and can be dealt with by management. The silent time waster and much more difficult to monitor is wasted work time spent on the internet. This costs companies millions each year in lost productivity from your employees not to mention the potential for security breaches.
Netective can provide you with the information that you need to keep the productivity in your business operating at its full potential. For more information go to www.imprezzio.com/netective

Netective Strikes Again!
March 22nd, 2011 Rick GeretyBack in the 1950’s and 60’s our national pastime consisted of enjoying a hotdog and a baseball game. Now days our focus has shifted from Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays to American Idol, Craigslist and Justin Bieber’s latest hair style. With this shift comes the unintended and certainly unwanted consequence of wasting time at work on the computer. With endless streams of information available at our fingertips, employees are admittedly wasting more time than ever before at the expense of you, the small business owner. As baby boomers exit the workforce and the trend continues (see graphic below), business owners need now more than ever a tool to help stem the tide.
Birth year and time wasted per day
1930-1949 0.50 hrs.
1950-1959 0.68 hrs.
1960-1969 1.19 hrs.
1970-1979 1.61 hrs.
